The hot seat is on fire in this episode

First up we talk about Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown and his now famous hair dye moments. Twice in one month his black dye has smeared on another players jersey and the internet has been clowning. The guys are weighing in, the podcasts are roasting, and even Jaylen laughed at himself and called LeBron for advice. We break down why so many men are feeling the pressure about hair loss and trying everything from transplants to man units to Bigen spray. Is it confidence or is it insecurity and what is the line between grooming and doing the most

Hot Seat number two sticks with the NBA. A former NBA player and Chicago native was recently arrested in Memphis on the way to his podcast taping. He was pulled over for an illegal lane change, there was weed on him, and the driver had cocaine. The body cam shows him devastated and almost in tears saying he should have stayed home and worrying this will ruin his reputation. We talk about whether this is a wrong place wrong time story or if he should have moved different knowing he is a public figure with a growing podcast

In All The Tea we turn the mirror on ourselves. Day and PJ share times when we almost got caught up with the law and how easily things could have gone left. PJ talks about almost getting arrested hanging with friends, hiding a little weed, and that wild trip to Jamaica in her early twenties where she had way more than she should have while getting frisked on the way home. We talk about what we learned, why we move different now, and how many of us have a story that could have ended badly

For Last Call we pour up one more drink and talk about Black Friday. This year we are not participating in the usual Black Friday madness so we share what we are doing instead. Supporting local shops, Black and Brown owned businesses, and finding ways to give back during the holidays instead of just swiping a card. If you are trying to be more intentional with your money and your energy this segment is for you

Tap in for laughs, real talk about men and beauty standards, cautionary tales about getting caught up, and a little holiday strategy session. Drop your own hair tales, almost got arrested stories, and Black Friday plans in the comments so we can read them on a future episode

In this episode we are talking about Donald Trump, ICE, and the federal government terrorizing parents, children, and whole communities in California, Chicago, New York, and Portland. From raids to checkpoints to people losing income, this is not just about politics. It is about people’s lives and food being taken out of kids mouths.

We start with ICE in Chicago and talk about what it feels like when immigration enforcement is moving through your city. We share practical things you can do right now to keep families safer
• Carry a whistle and use it if you see something
• Film everything you safely can
• Take a Know Your Rights training online or in person
• Carry identification at all times
• Learn exactly how to speak to an immigration officer so you do not give up your rights

Then we break down how the government shutdown hits regular people. About one point four million workers are affected, half furloughed and half working with no pay. Day talks about a tenant who is on furlough and how she is covering her rent so she does not lose her home. PJ talks about getting health insurance from the marketplace and how premiums could jump twenty to fifty percent. We connect the dots between government games and real life stress on families.

Next we get into SNAP cuts and what it really means when forty two million people lose benefits, including about fifteen million children. We talk about organizing a collection for our church food pantry, sponsoring a family losing benefits, and shifting our own budget by eating at home more so we can support folks and still save for our house.

All the Tea is all about what we are doing to fight back. We share ways you can protect your neighbors and push back when ICE is active in your city
• Join a whistle packing event to bundle whistles and info cards
• Volunteer at school drop off and pick up to help keep families safe
• If you are a business owner, display a Hands Off Chicago sign or an ICE Free Zone sign so people know your space is safe
• If you see ICE targeting someone, do not be silent blow your whistle, alert others, and record video if it is safe
• Check on your neighbors and be kind because this is scary for a lot of people

We also talk about actions that cost money
• Donate to a food pantry
• Buy from Black and Brown vendors so they can close early and be home safe with their families

We share why we are boycotting Home Depot because they are allowing ICE agents to make arrests on their property and what alternatives we use instead like Ace, Lowes, Menards, and local mom and pop hardware stores.

Then we get into the Mass Economic Blackout from November twenty five to December two. No big spending, no feeding corporations, no pretending things are normal. We talk about supporting small local Black and Brown businesses before and after those dates so they still get love without a holiday spike that puts them at risk.

Big Christmas is cancelled. From December three to December twenty four we are keeping the same energy, focusing on community care, mutual aid, and intentional giving instead of going broke under a tree.

Last Call is all about how we want to close out twenty twenty five by giving back and supporting people who are struggling. Mutual aid means all of us doing our part together in whatever way we can.

Outro reminder from Day keep your head on a swivel, do not smoke anything you did not roll, and do not forget to look out for folks who are having a tough time especially during the holidays.

If you care about Black families, working people, immigrants, and anybody just trying to survive this season, this episode is for you.

Day and PJ dig in on culture accountability and community

The Hot Seat is on Stephen A Smith for his take on Rep Jasmine Crockett and for leaning on respectability politics that miss our communities. We talk about why loud does not equal right and why you get to choose the voices that speak to you. We also unpack his Serena commentary and Alexis Ohanian’s reply.

Then we get into the Cardi B and Nicki Minaj feud and draw a clear line. Kids are off limits. We share real life examples of keeping it grown without crossing that line.

A viral clip shows a husband stepping in when five women jumped his wife. We talk fairness self defense and community care.

Last Call is all AI. We show how we use tools every day so you do not get left behind
• research topics with ChatGPT and Perplexity
• pull SEO keywords titles and tags that actually rank
• streamline property management like tenant messages maintenance tracking and notes

If you vibe with honest talk culture and community you are home here. Drop your thoughts in the comments.

The grandmas are back and cutting up! In this episode, Day & PJ unpack the chaos of Kanye West’s wild “ops” list, the growing WNBA player vs. commissioner drama, and Bad Bunny’s history-making Super Bowl halftime performance announcement.

From Kim K to Curious George, Kanye’s “beef” list is pure entertainment meets therapy session. Then we switch gears to the WNBA, where Commissioner Cathy Engelbert faces major backlash from players like Napheesa Collier over accountability, officiating, and tone-deaf leadership.

And for the “Last Call,” the ladies pour up a little conversation about Bad Bunny bringing global energy to the Super Bowl stage — and whether Roc Nation is sending a message with this choice.

Plus: Day & PJ get real about how they handle “ops” and friendship breakups as grown women. Because not every friendship is forever — and that’s okay. 💅🏾

🔥 The Hot Seat:
We dive into Dame Dash and his bold statement about “getting at everybody” once he fixes his teeth in September. Then we break down Lil Yachty’s controversial lyric about George Floyd, the backlash from Stephen Jackson and Charlamagne Tha God, and how Yachty later apologized.

🍸 All the Tea:
We compare the cost of going out at Black-owned vs. White-owned establishments in Chicago and beyond. From parking fees, entry costs, mandatory tips, and even being frisked at the door — to how Black bartenders and servers say our community tips differently. We keep it all the way real.

In this episode  we’re serving you a mix of hot tea, heart talk, and festival vibes.
We kick things off with the latest headlines — Diddy gets denied (again) and we’re asking the messy question: do we really think Trump would ever pardon him? Then we slide right into our main conversation: how your childhood shapes the way you love as an adult.
We’re breaking down the five love languages, talking about family dynamics, and asking the real questions: Were emotions welcomed in your home or shut down? Did you grow up as the caretaker, the invisible one, or the peacemaker? And how do those survival roles show up in your adult relationships today?
It’s not all heavy though — we also talk about healing, therapy, and what it looks like to rewrite old patterns so you can love better. Expect honesty, laughter, and the kind of raw storytelling only Day & PJ can deliver.
And of course, we couldn’t leave without talking what’s trending now: our time at Lollapalooza and the excitement for Doechii’s new tour, kicking off October 14th in Chicago and you know we got tickets!
If you’ve ever wondered why you love the way you love — this episode is for you.
